Trump Renames AI “Super Intelligence”: What Does It Mean?

Trump said during his September 22 UN address that U.S. government documents will use “super intelligence” instead of artificial intelligence, while repeating that he will not “stifle growth” in a technology he believes could be bigger than the Industrial Revolution.

The name itself does not mean today’s AI has suddenly become technically superintelligent. The bigger signal is policy: Washington wants development moving quickly.

That could accelerate AI inside offices, customer service, healthcare and defence, bringing useful tools faster while also changing jobs and required skills before many workplaces have fully adapted.

AI Malware Can Rewrite Itself: Could Antivirus Keep Up?

Google has identified experimental malware called PROMPTFLUX that can use Gemini to rewrite its own source code, including a version designed to regenerate itself every hour.

Google says PROMPTFLUX had not successfully compromised a victim when discovered, so this is not evidence that antivirus has suddenly stopped working.

But constantly changing malicious code can be harder to recognise. As more banking, shopping and personal information moves through connected devices, security tools may increasingly need to spot dangerous behaviour rather than simply recognise a known malicious file.
