AI is moving from something people experiment with online to something that could reshape where Americans work, how companies operate and where trillions of dollars are invested.

President Donald Trump has now made clear that Washington does not intend to slow that transition down. He says the U.S. will not “hinder or stifle” AI growth, a policy direction that could mean faster automation in the workplace, more AI-powered products and services, and far more money pouring into the infrastructure needed to support them.

Wall Street is already positioning for that future. AMD briefly became a $1 trillion company, while Intel surged as investors bet the next generation of AI agents will require an enormous amount of computing power.

For ordinary Americans, this is not just another technology boom. It could affect jobs, retirement accounts, the companies they invest in and the technology they use every day.

Here’s everything you need to know today.

Trump Says America Will Not Slow AI Down: What Is His New “AI Force”?

Trump said the U.S. will not “in any way hinder or stifle” AI growth in a September 19 Truth Social post, arguing that the technology could eventually account for as much as 25% of U.S. GDP.

He also announced plans to form an “AI Force” and said an AI “czar” would be named soon, while presenting continued U.S. leadership over China as a priority.

The policy direction matters because Washington can influence how quickly new AI systems reach businesses and consumers.

Fewer restrictions could encourage faster investment and deployment, while regulators would still face questions around fraud, cybersecurity and increasingly autonomous systems.

AMD Hits $1 Trillion: Why Is AI Sending the Stock Soaring?

AMD briefly crossed a $1 trillion market value for the first time Monday as its shares jumped roughly 9% and reached a record high.

AMD competes with Nvidia in AI accelerators, but it also sells server CPUs used inside data centres.

Those processors are becoming increasingly important as AI shifts from training models toward “inference”, when people and businesses actually use them.

For investors, AMD’s milestone shows the AI boom is broadening beyond Nvidia. Money is increasingly flowing toward companies supplying the processors and infrastructure needed to keep AI services running at enormous scale.

Intel Jumps as AI Agents Spark a New CPU Boom

Intel shares jumped by double digits Monday as investors reassessed how much traditional computing power the next generation of AI could require.

The rally has been linked to the rapid adoption of Meta’s Muse AI agent, with Intel, AMD and Arm all surging as investors bet AI agents will increase CPU demand.

Always-on agents that search, reason and perform tasks continuously may require far more general-purpose computing alongside specialised AI accelerators.

That could be significant for Intel because it remains a major supplier of server CPUs.

If AI agents become common inside apps, workplaces and online services, the AI computing boom could spread across a much wider part of the semiconductor industry.

AI Is Moving Faster. The Biggest Opportunities May Not Wait

When the White House is pushing AI forward and a chipmaker can suddenly become a $1 trillion company, this is no longer a technology story happening somewhere in the background.

An enormous amount of money is being committed to the chips, data centres, energy systems and infrastructure needed to build what comes next.

The problem is that by the time the biggest winners look obvious, much of the opportunity may already have passed.

That is why we created The $5 Trillion Signal.

It reveals five technologies we believe could attract trillions of dollars over the next decade, the investment themes taking shape around them, and the signals that can help you recognise a major shift before it becomes impossible to ignore.

If you want to understand where the next wave of capital could move before the rest of the market catches on, start here.
