Michael Saylor has just put another $370 million behind his biggest conviction, even after Bitcoin slipped back below $80,000.
Strategy bought another 4,603 BTC, taking its total holdings to an extraordinary 845,050 Bitcoin, worth roughly $66 billion at current prices.
But there is another number investors should be watching. Strategy is heading into September with $1.61 billion in cash, suggesting this latest purchase may not be the last.
How Much Bitcoin Did Michael Saylor Buy?
Strategy bought 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million at an average price of $80,318 per coin.
The purchase lifts the company’s total holdings to 845,050 BTC, equal to roughly 4% of all the Bitcoin that can ever exist.
The timing makes this buy especially interesting.
Bitcoin is trading around $78,500 today, meaning the market price is already below Strategy’s latest average purchase price.
Saylor has repeatedly shown that short-term weakness does not stop the company from accumulating.
How Much Bitcoin Does Strategy Own?
The scale of Strategy’s position is becoming difficult to ignore.
The company first began buying Bitcoin in 2020 with a $250 million purchase. Six years later, Bitcoin has become the centerpiece of its balance sheet.
Today’s announcement also revealed that Strategy increased its cash position by $29 million and now holds $1.61 billion in cash.
It also repurchased $152 million of STRC, one of the securities Strategy uses as part of its financing strategy.
That cash matters because Strategy has repeatedly raised money through financial markets to fund further Bitcoin purchases.
With more than $1.6 billion still available, investors will now be watching to see whether Saylor keeps buying below $80,000.
Could Strategy’s Bitcoin Buying Push BTC Higher?
One company cannot control Bitcoin’s price, but Strategy has become a meaningful source of long-term demand.
Its 845,050 BTC represents roughly 4% of Bitcoin’s fixed 21 million supply, with the company treating those coins as a long-term treasury asset rather than actively trading them.
That removes a huge amount of Bitcoin from the market.
If Strategy keeps accumulating while ETF investors and other institutions are also buying, competition for the remaining supply could become increasingly important.
The immediate question is whether $80,000 becomes resistance or simply another level Saylor is willing to buy through.
Saylor Is Still Buying. Where Could the Next Big Opportunity Be?
Strategy spent years accumulating before many traditional investors were comfortable owning Bitcoin.
That is the advantage of spotting a major shift before it becomes obvious.
The same opportunity may now be developing across AI, robotics, energy, biotech and blockchain.
