AI is starting to have consequences far beyond the products people use every day.
Today, billions of dollars are riding on Nvidia’s next earnings report, one of China’s hottest robot companies has lost $30 billion in value, and ChatGPT has been caught up in a Russian influence operation built around a fake organization.
Here’s what you need to know today.
Nvidia Earnings: Why Does Tomorrow’s Result Matter So Much?
Nvidia reports its latest results tomorrow, and expectations are enormous.
Sales are expected to reach roughly $92 billion, almost double the same period last year.
But the bigger question is whether companies can keep spending so heavily on AI.
Nvidia has increasingly helped finance customers buying its technology, including major commitments connected to new data centres.
If demand remains strong, it would suggest the AI spending boom still has room to run.
If it slows, questions about whether too much money has been poured into AI could get much louder.
Unitree Robot Stock: Why Did $30 Billion Disappear?
Unitree became one of China’s hottest stocks almost overnight.
Shares in the humanoid robot maker surged more than fivefold after its market debut, briefly pushing the company’s value to around $66 billion.

That excitement has now reversed sharply.
The stock has fallen roughly 45%, wiping around $30 billion from its peak valuation.
So why are investors suddenly backing away?
One reason is that Unitree’s business has not grown as quickly as its share price did. Adjusted profit fell 53% in the first quarter of 2026, while its robots are still struggling to find widespread commercial use beyond demonstrations and specialist applications.
In other words, investors were paying enormous prices for what Unitree could become, rather than what the business is earning today.
The sell-off is now raising a bigger question for the robotics boom: how much of today’s excitement is backed by real demand, and how much is simply money chasing the next big technology?
OpenAI Russia Operation: How Was ChatGPT Being Used?
OpenAI says it has shut down a group of ChatGPT accounts linked to a Russian influence operation.
The accounts were used to create social media posts promoting a fake Israel-based organisation called the International Burke Institute, complete with online personas designed to make it look legitimate.
The people behind the campaign also used AI to disguise signs of their Russian origins and give the operation a more convincing public face. OpenAI says the campaign ultimately reached only a small audience.
But the scale is not what makes this story important.
The more worrying part is how AI was used to manufacture credibility.
ChatGPT was not simply producing fake posts. It was helping create the appearance of a real organisation, with real people, real opinions and a believable identity behind it.
As AI becomes more capable, spotting what is genuine online may become harder too.
That makes vigilance more important than ever, especially when something looks polished, professional and convincing enough to feel real.
Where Does AI Go From Here?
Today’s stories show AI moving into money, robots and even the information people see online.
That same shift is spreading into energy, biotech and other industries.
