Wall Street is having one of its stronger sessions of the week, but some stocks are moving far more dramatically than the wider market.
Robinhood has jumped around 15% as Wall Street turns increasingly bullish on what the company could become beyond a trading app.
Snowflake is up more than 20% after delivering the kind of AI-driven growth investors have been waiting to see.
Meanwhile, Boeing is facing fresh questions over whether its $8.4 billion purchase of Spirit AeroSystems came with a much bigger financial headache than expected.
Here’s the stock market news worth knowing today.
HOOD Stock: Why Is Robinhood Stock Up Today?
Robinhood is having its best day in almost a year.
Shares surged around 15% on Thursday after a wave of bullish analyst calls strengthened the argument that the company is becoming much more than the app that made its name with commission-free stock trading.
Morgan Stanley recently upgraded Robinhood to Overweight and lifted its price target from $124 to $150.
Scotiabank and Piper Sandler have also turned more optimistic.
The important part is why.
Robinhood now has around 28 million funded customers, and it is finding more ways to make money from each of them through retirement accounts, credit cards, wealth management, subscriptions and prediction markets.
Robinhood Gold has reached roughly 4.8 million subscribers.
Prediction markets have become another surprisingly large business, particularly around major sporting events.
That changes the story around HOOD stock.
Robinhood once depended heavily on whether retail traders happened to be active.
Wall Street is increasingly betting that its growing collection of financial products could make revenue much more consistent.
SNOW Stock: Why Did Snowflake Stock Jump More Than 20%?
Snowflake delivered exactly what software investors wanted to see: faster growth and evidence that AI is actually generating revenue.
The company reported second-quarter product revenue of $1.49 billion, up 37% from a year earlier.
It also raised its full-year product revenue forecast from $5.84 billion to $6.07 billion.
Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy said AI accounted for roughly half of the recent acceleration in growth.
That is significant because software companies have spent the past few years facing an uncomfortable question.
Will AI make their products more valuable, or replace parts of what they sell?
Snowflake is starting to provide an answer.
Businesses are using its AI tools while spending more on the underlying Snowflake platform at the same time.
Shares jumped more than 20%, and the enthusiasm spilled into other software stocks including Salesforce, ServiceNow and Adobe.
At least 34 Wall Street firms subsequently raised their Snowflake price targets.
Boeing Stock: Why Is Its $8.4 Billion Spirit Deal Under Scrutiny?
Boeing bought Spirit AeroSystems last December because fixing its supply chain had become critical.
Spirit manufactures major parts of Boeing aircraft, including much of the 737 fuselage.
But bringing the supplier back inside Boeing is proving expensive.
A new examination of the $8.4 billion acquisition shows Boeing discovered hundreds of millions of dollars in additional liabilities after completing the deal.
Spirit also produced a $339 million pretax loss during the first half of 2026.
Boeing arguably had little choice.
Spirit was struggling financially, and allowing such an important supplier to deteriorate further could have created even bigger production problems.
But the cost matters because Boeing is still recovering from years of safety problems, production delays and cash losses.
The company needs higher aircraft production to restore its finances.
Spirit was supposed to help make that recovery easier.
Instead, Boeing must now prove it can fix the supplier without creating another long-running drain on cash.
Today’s Biggest Moves Show How Fast Money Can Shift
Robinhood and Snowflake both show how quickly money can rush into a stock once the story changes.
