At Future Finance, we’re always on the look-out for other companies blazing a trail in the edtech (education technology) space.

Of all the future stars of the education industry they don’t come much brighter than Lucy Stonehill and her company BridgeU, which is a platform designed to help students find and get into the best global universities.

BridgeU is a data-driven web service that aims to match up student applications and universities in a smart new way. It looks at a bunch of things like academic, social and professional preferences to recommend institutions and courses for students and then helps them tailor their application. All very clever stuff.

At the moment BridgeU covers students applying for places in the UK, US, Canada, the Netherlands and Hong Kong. Australia and Singapore are coming soon. They’ve raised investment of around $2.5m so far and picked up awards at EdTech 20, SXSWedu and Education Investor.

Get better and more efficient for students

It’s great to see new technology-driven businesses like this enter the education space, making things easier, better and more efficient for students – in much the same way as we strive to at Future Finance, by giving ambitious students the opportunity to afford a great education, achieve their career goals and realise their life ambitions. Money shouldn’t be a blocker to such dreams.

Lucy, and all at BridgeU, we applaud you!
