Getting back to the exam grindstone after a few months of lectures can be tough-going. Preparing correctly for summer exams can ease some of the pressure.
Ok. Let’s start with the obvious. The sunshine and long nights do not conjure the best environments for studying. In fact, staying in, wrapped up in your proverbial PJs with a text book and an empty set of flash cards sounds miserable! But think of it this way…in just a few months time you’ll have a whole summer to do whatever you want with! Your future-self will thank you for it, enormously.
Religiously following your course agenda, as if by numbers, can be quite restrictive. Give yourself some latitude to learn in different ways. Instead of just trying to cram words into your brain, make activities and games that challenge your mind id a different way. It will help the study process and depending on how good you are at games…might even be fun!
This is when you need your healthy mind-food more than ever. Keep your brain in top form with some sumptuous home cooking and turbo-boost your energy levels and capacity for creative-thinking while you’re at it.
But don’t burn out
Slow and steady wins the race. Don’t feel the urge to hammer your studies day and night just because it’s exam season. That won’t help you in the long run. So yes, by all means knuckle down but give yourself some sensible weekly targets and stick to them.

Relentless head-down studying can make you isolated if you’re not careful, especially when all your pears are doing the same thing. So, be sure to make the most of any forums you have at your disposal and chat regularly online with your fellow students to bounce ideas around, enhance your learning and keep yourself feeling invigorated.
